Small Acts, Big Impacts

We believe in the power of small acts to create a ripple effect of positivity throughout our community. Each kind gesture and moment of support holds the potential to inspire others, sparking a chain reaction that uplifts the spirits of everyone around us. It’s through these small, meaningful actions that kindness spreads, connections deepen, and together we cultivate a positive space where everyone can thrive.

Through community service, we bring our values to life, turning intentions into tangible change. Whether by volunteering our time, lending a helping hand, or uniting for a common cause, we build bridges that connect us with those who need it most. Our mission is to make a meaningful difference through our projects, one small act of service at a time, creating a community where everyone has the opportunity to flourish.

Appreciation Letters to Our School Community!

11/23/24

For our first service project, we hosted a successful and engaging event at the Mandel Public Library, where participants created heartfelt appreciation cards for teachers, janitors, bus drivers, and other dedicated faculty members. This event was a wonderful opportunity to express our gratitude for the hard work and commitment these individuals show every day. We were thrilled with the large and enthusiastic turnout and are proud to share that we collected over 200 heartfelt cards. Once the cards were thoughtfully crafted, we distributed them to various schools with the hope of bringing joy and brightening the day of every recipient, putting a smile on each and everyone of them!

Writing Holiday Cards to Hospitalized Children!

12/21/24-12/22/24

The second and third Community Kindness service project event was to write cards for hospitalized children. This project was aimed to send support and the holiday spirit to hospitalized children across Florida including Golisano Children’s Hospital, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Pediatric Associates in Royal Palm Beach, and Studer Family Children’s Hospital. The event took place on December 21st and 22nd at the Mandel Library in West Palm Beach and Boca Library in Boca Raton. High school students all across Palm Beach County came to these events writing thoughtful and colorful cards filled with positive messages, drawings, and well wishes for the hospitalized children while earning community service and National Honor Society hours. Community Kindness officers also participated in card writing, lifting the spirits of the volunteers, and documenting the event. The messages were then packaged and sent to hospitals all over Florida.

Community Clean Up!

1/26/25

For our fourth service event, we teamed up with Overdue, a fantastic organization committed to cleaning up the environment in Boca Raton and West Palm Beach. Together, we wanted to kick off 2025 with a fresh start—making our community cleaner and healthier than ever. Our aim was simple: encourage a cleaner community to reduce health risks, boost mental well-being, and increase the cleanliness of our community. By the end of the event, we were thrilled to have collected over a hundred pounds of trash. It felt amazing to start the new year by making a real difference—creating a cleaner, healthier, and more welcoming community for everyone!

Shelter Support Drive!

2/23/25

For our fifth service event, Community Kindness organized a large-scale Shelter Support Drive to aid five local shelters across Palm Beach County: Lamb House Sober Home for Women, The Caring Place Broward Outreach Center, Adopt-A-Family West Palm Beach, the Reach Shelter Program, and The Lord’s Place. Volunteers collected and sorted hundreds of pounds of clothing, hygiene products, and daily essentials, then assembled care packages paired with over one hundred handwritten cards filled with encouragement and hope. This event united students, families, and community members to support individuals and families facing hardship, spreading warmth and compassion through every donation. By the end, Community Kindness had not only provided vital resources but also strengthened its connection to local shelters, proving that small acts of kindness can create meaningful, lasting change.

Helping Seniors Navigate through Technology

3/23/25

For our sixth service event, Community Kindness bridged generations through technology by reversing the traditional roles — empowering youth volunteers to teach seniors valuable digital skills. During the event, students guided seniors step-by-step through essential topics such as using smartphones, navigating social media, sending messages, and connecting virtually with loved ones. By doing so, we helped older adults gain confidence and independence in an increasingly digital world, enabling them to stay in touch with friends and family, access important resources, and feel more connected to their communities. The event fostered meaningful conversations, laughter, and understanding between generations, showing that kindness and learning truly transcend age.

Beach Cleanup for our Ocean Community

4/26/25

For our seventh service event, Community Kindness partnered with Keep Palm Beach Beautiful in honor of Environmental Awareness Month. Together, we focused on protecting our ocean community by removing litter, safeguarding marine life, and promoting sustainable habits among volunteers and residents. Through collective effort and dedication, our team collected over one hundred pounds of trash from local beaches and surrounding areas. This initiative not only prevented harmful waste from entering the ocean but also fostered greater awareness of environmental responsibility. By the end of the event, we had created a safer, cleaner, and healthier environment—one where both marine life and community members can thrive.

Community Kindness: Healing with Kindness

7/29/25

For our eighth service event, Community Kindness had the opportunity to brighten hospital rooms through a joyful collaboration with Joe DiMaggio Children’s Health Specialty Center at Wellington. Our volunteers worked alongside patients to make countless glitter jars, paper flowers, origami, bracelets, and drawings, transforming ordinary moments into meaningful connections. Every craft became a symbol of hope and healing, bringing smiles to children’s faces and adding color to their recovery spaces. This event reminded us that even small creative acts can uplift spirits and make hospitals feel warmer, brighter, and full of kindness.

Community Kindness: Healing with Kindness

7/30/25

For our ninth service event, Community Kindness returned for a second day of creativity and connection at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Health Specialty Center at Wellington. Our volunteers were thrilled to bring even more joy and laughter to the children through a variety of fun, hands-on activities — including rock painting, paper flower making, origami, bracelet crafting, and drawing. Each activity encouraged self-expression and provided a comforting outlet during the children’s healing journey. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue uplifting these young patients and to remind them that kindness and creativity can bring light even in challenging times..

Community Kindness: Healing with Kindness

7/31/25

For our ninth service event, Community Kindness visited Joe DiMaggio Children’s Health Specialty Center at Wellington for the final day of our three-day “Healing with Kindness” series. We are so grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the hospital and spend time brightening the children’s days through creativity and care. During this visit, the kids got to make their own slime, create flowers for their parents, fold origami, craft bracelets, and draw colorful artwork. These past three days have been incredibly meaningful and impactful, as we witnessed countless smiles and moments of joy. Seeing each child proudly hold their own creations reminded us of the healing power of kindness, connection, and creativity..

Back-To-School Support Drive

8/20/25

For our eleventh service event, Community Kindness hosted a countywide supply drive to support Title I schools across Palm Beach County. Our goal was to ensure that students and teachers in under-resourced schools had the tools they need to learn, teach, and thrive. Volunteers came together to donate essential school supplies and write over 150 heartfelt cards expressing gratitude and encouragement to educators and staff. Through the generosity of our community, we collected an abundance of materials—ranging from notebooks and pencils to classroom essentials—that were personally delivered to the schools and teachers who needed them most. This event embodied our mission to promote equity in education and uplift those who dedicate their lives to inspiring the next generation.

Community Clean Up

9/28/25

For our twelfth service event, Community Kindness united volunteers from across Palm Beach County to make a positive environmental impact in our community. With a shared goal of creating a greener and cleaner environment, students came together in West Palm to collect litter, raise awareness about sustainability, and protect local ecosystems. Through teamwork and dedication, we successfully collected over 200 pounds of trash, helping to create a cleaner, healthier, and more enjoyable space for both residents and wildlife. This event reflected our belief that even small collective actions can lead to meaningful, lasting change for our planet and our community.

Writing Cards to Hospitalized Children

10/25/25

For our thirteenth service event, Community Kindness volunteers came together to create fun and uplifting Halloween cards and letters for hospitalized children across the county. With creativity, care, and dedication, our members designed colorful cards filled with encouraging messages and festive decorations to bring smiles to young patients spending the holiday in the hospital. By the end of the event, we had handcrafted over 500 cards, spreading joy and comfort to children and families during a time that can often feel isolating. This event reminded us of the power of small acts of kindness.
